Just when I think I'm doing good at this whole blogger thing, I immediately slack off and take months to update! So here I am - back with some fun updates! Well, first exciting news for the Sooter family - in January we decided that Delaney needed a little buddy to play with, and well realistically we just wanted another fur baby so we brought home a little brother, Deacon! They LOVE each other already!
The Midlothian Football banquet was right after school started back up for the semester. It was a fun night with friends and so great to see how much the coaching staff has inspired those boys. The team had an amazing season, making it to playoffs for the first time in years. MHS is truly a great school and perfect place for Josh to teach and coach. We are so happy that we made the decision to move to Midlothian and couldn't have asked for a better group of coaches, staff, and their families.
At the end of January our niece, Madison, turned ONE! We celebrated with a small family birthday party complete with presents and cake! It was super fun to watch her open presents since you could tell she realized they were for her and kind of understood the concept. Still needed a little help - but the little face she had when she saw them all was priceless! I ended up making her a little smash cake for the occasion - hysterical! At first she wasn't too sure about it but once she got a taste of the icing the cake was picked up and stuffed quickly in her mouth. Cutest thing EVER!
January 25th we continued the tradition of the balloon release in honor of my baby brother, Chad. While it is a sad day for my family, it makes my heart warm to know that there are so many people that have been such a support year after year during this day. It was 4 years ago that we lost him and not a day goes by that my heart isn't breaking. Thank you to all of our family and friends that joined us this year in his memory! (Not a great picture, but for the first year since we started this it seemed to be bright enough to watch the balloons disappear into the distance)
We hope that everyone's 2013 has started as great as ours and continues to get better and better!
Xoxo,
J&K
